Sandalwood Oil: Uses and How to Choose a Good One
Sandalwood oil has a warm, woody scent and is used in perfumery, meditation and traditional rituals. Genuine oil is expensive because the trees grow slowly.
Common uses
- A drop on a diffuser pad or in a diffuser for a calm, woody room scent.
- Diluted in carrier oil (1 to 2%) for a fragrant body or pulse-point oil.
- In pooja rooms for its traditional fragrance.
How to choose
Look for the botanical name (Santalum album), a dark glass bottle and a realistic price. Very cheap "sandalwood oil" is often blended or synthetic. Read our purity checks.
