Moved to New Hosting

By shreedhara

It was already an year back I hosted my dotcom site at TMDhosting, and I was not happy with two stuffs, one was paying additional $25 to add a domain to the hosting just to host in my hosting account, and second is paying $25 to host my addon domain. :-) . I had planned to move my site to a new hosting long back when I purchased the hosting at justhost in January. It was so cheap that I got the hosting at just $45+ for an year, and it possesses all the features what my $119 hosting at tmdhosting has and also provided me with about $50 facebook coupons,$25 Miva and $25 google adwords (could not use it because I’m an Indian $-( ).

I had already mentioned long back that all the downloads will be removed from my blog and I will not be posting any downloads on here. Its really foolish to think I will become a highly successful IM making millions in an year or two,as I have already been hammered by fate since more than 4 years.

And more than that, I will now be focussing on building my new sites and put full effort on promoting them one by one.

Facebook Campaign Split Testing

By shreedhara

Last campaign I ran was a simple direct linking one with Tracking202 as my tracker. Its really different than earlier now on facebook advertising I observed through this campaign. I Observed that never ever the campaign ctr will grow over 0.1% in a facebook campaign and also we can never reduce the campaign average cpc less than 0.2, mainly due to the fact that facebook decides based on the number of people, number of impressions and an average number of clicks per thousand impressions and not on the keyword basis.
So this time I started a new campaign, thanks to PEERFLY that there were more than one campaign offers were available on Blackberry 2.
I Created 3 Ads for the 3 Blackberry offers on Faceb0ok with the same bid of $0.3 CPC.  A drill down of the ads and their earning were found to be different than what I actually had thought earlier.

Win A Blackberry Storm 2A

Impressions : 123,053

Clicks :53

CTR (%) :0.04

Avg. CPC ($) :0.27

Earning : $13.50

Win A Blackberry Storm 2B

Impressions : 11,770

Clicks :3

CTR (%) :0.03

Avg. CPC ($) :0.25

Earning : $0

Win A Blackberry Storm 2C

Impressions : 24,088

Clicks :9

CTR (%) :0.04

Avg. CPC ($) :0.27

Earning : 0

So What is my learning from this ?

1. People on Facebook seek simpler and realistic ads than the dazzling and colorful ads.

2.  Colorful ads do  not give clear indication of the campaign lead results.

3. Happy Holi. ;-)

Facebook Campaigns : Figures speak

By shreedhara | 1 comment

I don’t think there is any need for me to explain  how much I spent on these campaigns as these are the free credits I received from my hosting and some other site.

It was just a two day effort and about 4-6 hours of waiting for approval and without spending a dime on the ad, a small revenue shows off in my publisher account.

First : My Facebook Ad account that shows the exact spend and cost per click deemed by the ad space. There had been about 270k impressions and about 116 clicks that cost me around $44 of free credits.

Second : My Actual Click Count from my tracking202 account that shows the number of clicks on the ads placed.

Third: The final show off the account in PEERFLY that shows the actual earning from the email submit offer I used for improving my CPA marketing skill.s

Campaign Update : CPC vs CPM

By shreedhara

It was running fine until this morning. When I felt that the clicks coming are not enough, I made some changes to the
ads that I posted earlier.
The only changes that I remember that I made were, changing the targetting for the ad from english speaking to include all American users. Thus suddenly after an hour or so I got my ads disapproved.
Well although I had received only 3 clicks out of 31k impressions it was really fun to learn some importance of CPC over CPM type of traffic.

Till last night I was of the impression that CPM is better than CPC and is a safe bet.
But actually speaking the CTR plays a vital role in deciding the importance of a method used in affiliate marketing.
If the CTR is very less say 1-2%, then using CPM will take you to the end of life for your credit card.
E.g Consider myself having $0.35 as CPM and $0.35 as CPC. For the above ad I used CPC, and for 3 Clicks I was charged about $1.02.
Say If I had used CPM as my method of promotion then I would have incurred a total charge of 31K/1000 * 0.35 = 32*0.34=$10.88 a total of $9.68 over my CPC cost. SO its always better to bet on CPC than on CPM.
